An Ending

For those of you who have been following
my blog for the last little while,
you know I have been handling my Great Uncle's affairs.
Well, I got the call on Christmas Eve morning that
Uncle Johnnie had passed peacefully a few minutes before.
This is a drawing of Uncle Johnnie done from
a photo from many years ago.
It was both very sad to get the news he had passed,
and very much a blessing. He is no longer in pain, and
got to spend Christmas Eve, his favorite holiday, with his family in heaven.
We will miss you Uncle Johnnie!

Christmas...

This is my best Christmas decoration.
After today I am holding him a little tighter,
and snuggling him a little closer.
My heart goes out to all those affected by the
terrible tragedy today in Connecticut.
Hug your loved ones and remember how precious each day is.

Miss Mustard Seed

SuzAnna's Antiques was so pleased to
welcome Miss Mustard Seed to the shop
this weekend!
We are lucky enough to carry
Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint
line at SuzAnna's Antiques,
brought to us by one of our dealers, the lovely Miss Kim,
modeling her paint clothes!
And we brought Miss Mustard Seed herself to our customers!
For both a paint demo and a book signing.

It was one of the BEST weekends ever at the shop!
I have not stopped smiling since Saturday!
You can see these and other great pictures on

Happy Pink Saturday!

I thought this would be fun to post for Miss Beverly's Pink Saturday
in honor of breast cancer awareness!!!
If you continue to read the post below from last week, you will
see pictures of my pretty mommy. She is
a 13 year breast cancer survivor and is still battling this
disease! If you did not know she had cancer you would never be able to tell!
She does not let it define who she is and is one of the strongest women
I know!  She tires me out! hehehe!
Here's to all the surviors, those still battling and those
who are helping battle from Heaven! We love you!

Rollercoaster

Many of you know that I have been
taking care of my Great Uncle for the last
two, going on three years.
This past Tuesday we got a call from the hospital
that we needed to get to Virginia right away
that he had taken a turn for the worst.
We rushed up, said our good-byes, got things in
order, and prepared final paperwork and things with the
hospital. As of today (Friday Morning)
he has rallied and looks like he will be with us for
a while longer!
I have tons of pictures to share with you about the
shopping day at SuzAnna's Antiques
but for now bear with me while we are riding this emotional
roller coaster.

Excited!!

I am so excited! I am packing stuff right now!

With all the junk I have been dealing with over
the last few weeks,
 when I heard about
this I said "WHY NOT??"

The Southern Bloggers Conference!!
I really don't do too much for myself but this sounded like so
much fun! Plus it is right here in Raleigh!!
You can click on this link to read more about it
and even get tickets if you want!
I was on a twitter party for it last night and there are
ladies coming from as far away as California and Utah!
Since it is in Raleigh, I am not staying at the hotel
And having a slumber party like some of the ladies
even though I have been invited to share a fold out couch in
some of the rooms!
Best of all, on Sunday all the ladies are
going out shopping around to antique shops in
Raleigh and my little old shop I share with my
mommy is on the shopping trip!
WOOHOO!
Maybe my luck is finally changing for the better! YAY!

Fall Fun!!

I am loving Pinterest!

I think I am loving Pinterest toooooo much
and have been "forgetting" about my blog!
taken after a wicked storm at our house is August!
So here is a quick run down of what I
have been up too!
Still going back and forth to
Virginia to help my great Uncle.
He does not really know me
anymore due to the dementia
but he is still such a happy person that we have fun
visiting. We finally sold his co-op!
After 18 months on the market which I know in this
market is not too bad,
but man, am I glad that's over with!
Kyle started back to school and is actually already
on Fall Break.
I LOVE year round schools!
I had Jimmy V in August and that was so much fun
as always! 19 years and counting!
And I got to meet Scotty McCreery, so that was a treat!
Kyle's school had their annual Family Fun Frolic Fundraiser.
We ended up raising over $20,000.00 for his school!
Woohoo!
When you think about the fact that there
are only 500 kids in his school, that's pretty good!
Other than that I have just been working up a storm
at the shop! It has been sooooo busy, which is a great problem to have!
If you don't know about my shop, head over to
SuzAnna's Antiques Blog to see whats going on over there!

Wedding!

Our great friend Al got married this last weekend!
He introduced Jason and I almost 20 years ago,
so it has been so
wonderful getting to know Shannon,
the woman he has fallen in love with!
Jason was in the wedding and looked so good in his tux!
Since Jason and Al always joke that they are
"brothers from another mother"
we had to get this picture of the mom's and boys!
Then, since my phone was in hand, we got this grainy
shot of the three of us on my phone! I forgot to turn on the
flash!!
Then the dancing started!! And oh wow!!
Kyle was getting down!! hehehe!
We had so much fun and wish Al and Shannon the best!!

 Vacations are wonderful,
but coming home is still the best part!
