(hanging from my kitchen cabinet)
Here are some pics of my FAVORITE Christmas decorations!
Like I told you all in my last post, my Grandmother's name was Annaliese,
(hutch in my dining room)
so she collected these dolls for years.
They are called Annalee dolls and have such fun faces!
My mom has most of my grandmothers collection
and has told me which ones I will get one day when
she and dad downsize their decorations
(I guarantee this will not be anytime soon!)
These are all my collection. I have found most of these at antique shops, (angel mouse with some other angel animals....)
ebay and now even TJ Maxx and Homegoods are carrying the newest ones.
I looked up the history of these guys and they were first
started by a mom in the 1930's to supplement the family income. She fashioned them all from looking at her sons playing.
That is why so many of the elves and mice have such fun faces.
The oldest one I have is this little sleepy guy from 1963!
The one below is a new one from 2000.
(hanging off my TV hutch)
This is my newest little mouse...Check out that smile!
(This is my oldest newest guy in my entry way)
The vintage ones are my favorite, but every once in a while there will be a good one at TJ Maxx. In looking them up on ebay, there is a 6 foot tall dragon that is amazing...maybe Kyle needs another stuffed animal???hehehe
